Today I am posting the first of many Zapateo videos I have from world Zapateo champion, Freddy "Huevito" Lobaton's master class at the Lima Jazz Festival. Zapateo is afro-peruvian tap dancing. This video shows a more formal style of Zapateo. Notice how Huevito starts and ends the dance the same way.

In his newest Afro-Peruvian Jazz Album, Gabriel Alegria and his sextet: Joscha Oetz (bass), Laurandrea Leguia (saxaphone), Walter "Jocho Velazquez (guitar), Hugo Alcazar (arguably one of Peru's best drummers), and world Zapateo (Afro-Peruvian tap-dancing) champion and percussionist , Freddy "Huevito" Lobaton team up with jazz greats, Bobby Shew,
Tierney Sutton, Russell Ferrante, Bill Waltrous, and Lisa Harriton to create an incredible CD.
Ernesto Hermoza Vivencias 2005
Ernesto is an incredible spanish style guitarist who plays jazz songs with Afro-Peruvian percussive beats. He plays this CD with flautist and long time friend Manuel Carranza.
